In the first quarter of this year, the CRE trains heading to Europe and Asia in Jinhua, Zhejiang have cumulatively dispatched 15,194 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 44.2%, achieving an auspicious start of 2024.

On April 15, a CRE train carrying 55 40-foot containers departed from the Erenhot Railway Port, bound for Europe.

A spokesperson from CR-Huhhot told reporters that they, in collaboration with customs, border inspection, and other authorities, have been streamlining the customs clearance process for foreign trade, combined with identifying bottlenecks in enterprise customs clearance, and implemented the construction of digital port platforms to facilitate the movement of import and export goods. In the first quarter of this year, the Erenhot Railway Port handled 802 inbound and outbound CRE trains, an increase of 7.5% year on year.

It's not just Erenhot. With the vigorous development of import and export trade, the demand for CRE trains across the country has been increasing. The latest data from CR shows that in the first quarter of this year, 4,541 CRE trains were operated, transporting 493,000 TEUs, representing year-on-year increases of 9% and 10% respectively. As of the end of March 2024, over 87,000 CRE trains have been operated, reaching 222 cities in 25 European countries.
